MAGA QAnon conspiracy theorists say President Carter actually died 2 years ago (Video)

More idiocy.

QAnon conspiracy theorists Steve Shultz and Johnny Enlow have made an unfounded claim that former President Jimmy Carter actually died years ago “but they saved the announcement for now.” This assertion is completely false and contradicts official statements and reliable news sources.

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100. He died peacefully at his home in Plains, Georgia, surrounded by his family. Carter was the longest-lived president in U.S. history.

One of the conspiracy theorists claims that the government deliberately delayed announcing Carter’s death for two years to ensure American flags would be at half-mast during Donald Trump’s inauguration. American flags are required to fly at half-mast for 30 days following the death of a U.S. president.

Have you ever heard of such stupidity?

The claim made by Shultz and Enlow is a baseless conspiracy theory with no supporting evidence. It contradicts numerous official sources, including statements from the White House, the Carter Center, and “reputable” news organizations. Such unfounded assertions can be harmful and disrespectful to the Carter family and those mourning the loss of the former president. It’s important to rely on credible sources for information about significant events like the passing of a former president, rather than giving credence to unsubstantiated claims from silly conspiracy theorists.

A state funeral for Jimmy Carter is scheduled to be held on January 9, 2025, in Washington, D.C. The event will be part of a 7-10 day affair, including ceremonies in Georgia and Washington, D.C., followed by a private interment in Plains, Georgia.
