MAGA Deception? White politician mistakenly comments as gay, Black Trump supporter (2020)

Who remembers this?

Let’s rewind four years.

In the ever-unfolding drama of the 2020 Election and its aftermath, just when we thought we saw it all, reality surprised us yet again. Well, considering it was MAGA it wasn’t a surprise at all.

Enter Dean Browning, a White male Republican who ran unsuccessfully in the 2020 Republican primary for Pennsylvania’s 7th District. He allegedly, by mistake, tweeted “I’m a black gay guy” from his official account—a tweet that was quickly deleted but remains archived as evidence of this bizarre turn of events.

For those unaware, users of X (formerly Twitter), can create multiple accounts and easily switch from one to another.

Browning, a Republican former Lehigh County commissioner who participated in a 2020 congressional primary, presented himself as “a proud pro-life & pro-2A Christian conservative dedicated to enacting common sense solutions to Keep America Great” on his official Twitter account.

Given Dean’s active presence on social media back then, it’s understandable that his now-deleted tweet caught everyone off guard. The controversial tweet was a direct response to a Twitter user who criticized President Donald Trump for dismantling the achievements of Obama’s administration. The tweet rapidly gained traction, going viral and securing the No. 2 spot among trending Twitter topics.

The internet community is astute and observant; such incidents do not go unnoticed. This episode serves as a compelling reminder of the lengths individuals may go to sway public opinion—and why vigilance is crucial in discerning truth amidst political theatrics. Moreover, it highlights the deception modern-day rightwingers practice as MAGA are masters of disinformation – false information that is intended to mislead.

People on social media quickly offered sinister explanations, claiming Dean had intended to tweet from a fake account. However, Dean soon provided an explanation, tweeting, “I was quoting a message that I received earlier this week from a follower,” though most people didn’t believe him.

Do you believe Mr. Browning?

This situation is not unlike all of those fake “Blacks for Trump” signs we see Whites waving at Trump rallies.

Sadly, exit polls from the 2020 Election showed that Trump increased his support among African Americans compared to 2016, particularly in the Midwest. But, for some reason, Dean Browning’s X account can’t be found today. Does it still exist?

Nope… But this funny parody account with Browning’s old handle does!!

Welcome to the MAGAverse.
